PS3... YAyyyy!!!

Keith bought me a PS3. Woohooooooooooooo!!! :) (Thanks dear!!!!)

I came home from work Friday, 23rd March not suspecting anything. Greeted my mum and Keith then went to shower. Was getting my clothes left on the bed when I saw a black controller that read SONY hidden underneath. I let out a small cry of delight and immediately suspected that Keith had gotten the PS3.

I quickly ran out of the bedroom to the TV entertainment unit to look for the PS3. Sure enough it was sitting there, all fixed up waiting for me to turn the power button on. Keith then gave me two new games, Final Fantasy XII and Tennis Sportsgame. We played the Tennis game for 30 minutes which I sadly lost. By then, I was itching to play Final Fantasy. The familiar Final Fantasy tune came on and I stayed glued watching the opening trailer. Before long, I was busy killing monsters and increasing my health power. Went to bed at 3am. Guess I'll be back to sleeping late again for the next few weeks. But at least, I will gain an extra hour when daylight saving ends Sunday, 3am.

P/S: Unfortunately, while I was rejoicing in my new game console, I heard on the news that there was a 4 semi-trailer and 3 car pile up accident in Burnley tunnel, Melbourne. Three people were killed and there was a huge explosion and fire with temperature soaring up to 1000 degrees Celcius inside. :(

MH129 flight

Mum woke me up at 6am, March 12th to catch our 9:55am MAS flight from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne. We left Melaka at 6:40am and arrived at the airport at 8am. I was surprised to be told by the check in counter that there were no window or aisle seats left. Only middle seats were available so mum sat in front of me while I sat at the back.

Italians were sitting on my left and right. They were friendly and started chatting with me. Much to my delight they were the Ferrari F1 mechanics for Kimi Raikkonen and previously for my favourite F1 driver, Michael Schumacher. There were 40 of them on the flight from Italy to Melbourne with stopover in Kuala Lumpur. There were another 40 on the previous day's flight.

Anyway we had a safe and smooth touch down in Melbourne airport at 9pm local time. I had to wind my watch forward by 3 hours. Caught a coach from the airport to Geelong Railway Station for $25 per person. Thereafter took a cab to Torquay for $40. Made it home close to midnight. I was tired out. The weather was nice, cool and windy at 14 degrees celcius. I was a bit sad that my holiday had come to an end but am also rejuvenated and looking forward to going back to work.

My Wednesday in Melaka

March 7th was a very fruitful day for me. Went to the photo shop to get my passport photo taken. It took less than 5 minutes and I was happy with the photo shoot. Went for a haircut, then to the Immigration Department to apply for a new passport. The service was very impressive. My number was called within 2 minutes and I was out of the Department 15 minutes later. I was told that my passport would be ready in 2 hours. I then went home for lunch and took my mum for a dental appointment. I got my teeth checked and some scaling done. I then went to collect my new pair of glasses from the optician. My short sightedness and astigmatism both reduced. My power is now just 250 for both eyes. Hallelujah! Went to another shop to get my year's supply of contact lens and a clip-on sunnies. Mum then took me to a char siew fun shop in Melaka Baru to buy takeaway. It was delicious and I could tell from the longgggggg queue of people. I am now home with flu and sore throat. Guess I'll have to rest more for the next few days. What a bummer! :(

KL Trip

I caught a coach up to KL over the weekend to spend time with my buddies. The ride took 2 hours from Melaka and cost RM9-40 one way. May Cy, my ex-colleague and good friend was kind enough to pick me from Puduraya bus stop. From there, we proceeded to Jalan Imbi for its famous Beef Hor Fun. It was still as good as memory serves me except that the portion was incredibly big for two girls.

Next day, we went to watch Music and Lyrics at GSC Mid Valley. It was quite enjoyable as it brought back memories of the 80s pop era. After the movie, we spent 4 hours shopping. We then went to a friend's house in Desa Parkcity and ogled at her 6 week old boy. Had Klang Bak Kut Teh for dinner and later chilled out at a pub called Sanctuary at the Curve.

We had 4 CNY open houses to visit on Saturday. Our first stop was at Sue's. Her mum made us roti jala, curry chicken and stir fried satay pork. It was the best I ever tasted! Then we went to Millie's and had more food. I enjoyed her mum's nasi pulut and yam cake. Our third stop was at Christopher's, who was my manager when I was working with United Overseas Bank. He had a housewarming/CNY dinner party with over 100 guests. The dinner spread was plentiful and the caterers roasted a whole lamb in the garden. No doubt, the highlight of the dinner was the lamb. It was also great reuniting with all my ex-colleagues, although I was asked the same few cliche questions over and over again. Last stop for the night was at Alex's place in Taman Desa. It was a sweet nostalgic experience as Taman Desa was where I stayed for 7 years while working in KL.

Sunday was more laid back. Visited Jacsmyn at her new condominium in Seri Maya. Ai Leen and William were there too. Ai Leen looked cute with her baby bump. She's due to deliver anytime. Later in the evening, May Cy, her mum, Siew Yin and I went for dinner at Vietnam Kitchen in 1-Utama. Siew Yin gave me a pair of self made earrings which looked funky. Thanks babe! We then watched Lady Iron Chef. Didn't enjoy the movie as it was rather silly and childish. Was hoping to watch them cook up a storm of exquisite dishes but got none of those. Proceeded on to a mamak stall in SS2. Had roti tisu, was impressed with the length and size of it.

We pampered ourselves with facial treatment on Monday. My face felt very smooth and clean afterwards. Went to PJ State for lunch as I wanted to have my favourite pork noodle. The stall owner still remembered me and knew what I wanted without me having to walk up to him to place my order. Super VIP service! After lunch, I went to my old work place to say hi. Got held there for an hour but it was worthwhile as I got to catch up with everyone. We then went to Subang Jaya as May Cy wanted to get a new mobile phone. I did some shopping and bought a jacket from Blook. Soon it was time to pack up and say goodbye to KL. We were stuck in the jam for over an hour but made it in time for dinner at Jalan Silang Beef Ball Noodle House and to catch my 8:30pm bus home to Melaka. I enjoyed my KL trip very much and have to thank May Cy for being such a good host. She took Friday and Monday off from work just to entertain me. I'm so lucky to have such a good friend. Thanks May Cy! Will miss you. Till we meet again... :)
